What Is a Blessing Box?
Blessing Boxes are designed for anonymous, 24/7, community-driven food and hygiene support. They operate on a simple principle: “Take what you need, leave what you can.”
The box will be accessible at all times to anyone in need—no questions asked, no forms to complete, and no barriers. It allows us as a congregation to share directly with individuals and families who may be experiencing food insecurity or financial hardship.
Our Blessing Box is located at the front of our campus near the flagpoles.
Core Guidelines for Filling the Blessing Box
To ensure the box remains safe, respectful, and effective, we ask that everyone follow these important guidelines:
Acceptable Items - See Detailed List Here
- Non-perishable, shelf-stable foods such as:
- Canned goods (preferably with pop-tops)
- Pasta and rice
- Peanut butter
- Cereal
- Individually packaged snacks
- Personal hygiene items:
- Soap
- Toothpaste
- Toilet paper
- Feminine hygiene products
Safety & Condition
- All items must be in their original, unopened packaging.
- Please check expiration dates and only donate items that are not expired.
Prohibited Items
For safety and liability reasons, please do not place the following in the box:
- Alcohol
- Weapons of any kind
- Hazardous materials
- Glass containers
- Home-cooked or homemade food
Seasonal Considerations
During freezing weather, please avoid placing liquids or canned goods in the box, as they can freeze, expand, and potentially explode.
Labeling
We encourage you to consider writing “Blessing Box” on donated items. This helps prevent items from being returned to stores for cash and ensures they are used for their intended purpose.
Respectful Usage
If the box is full, please do not leave excess items around or block access. Simply return at a later time to restock. Our goal is to keep the box neat, accessible, and welcoming.
This ministry belongs to all of us. Whether you are contributing items, spreading the word, or benefiting from its contents, you are part of sharing Christ’s love in action.
